Here is a strange sound file that I made one lovely Sunday morning in spring time around the year 2002.
Mom was still asleep. I had woken quite early. I knew I would have to take her to church around 9:30. I was letting her sleep in a bit, and in the meantime, I was using Garage Band for the first time. I recorded the train pulling into the town of Pawling, and then I played the midi keyboard and recorded a hymn from the Christian Science Hymnal, which mom loves. (As mom had pointed all my life, out over and over, “the hymn was based on a Jewish melody”) I did my best piano rendition. Around 8, she finally did get up. She walked into the room and I recorded her commenting on the train, and asking me if I wanted a cup of tea. I put it together with the hymn … and there you go. Enjoy

Here is Mom and here sister Connie when they were teenagers on the their brother’s motorcycles, next to their house in the Bronx, in what is now Co-Op City. And surprise ! The house is still there in the middle of all the those buildings!
